1 on 1 Interview
Presentation
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
The interview process for this position was rather straightforward. After applying online through campus recruiting, I was notified of an on-campus interview with an alumni from the program. This was only supposed to last 30 minutes but ended up taking 50. Very standard behavioral questions: tell me about yourself, strength, weakness, tell me about a time you had to make a difficult decision and how did you go about communicating it, tell me about a time you worked with a team and what you could have done better, etc. After about a month and a half they let me know I qualified for the superday in Wilmington. This interview consisted of 2 one on one interviews, one from Accenture (they outsource part of their recruiting) and one with a VP within the track at JP Morgan. Because I was going for the business analyst position they didn't ask any hard coding / technical questions, but did ask about how I would get people to work with me who had no commercial incentive to do so, asked why I would invest in certain technologies, and about my resume and experiences. Last, I had to deliver a 15 minute presentation on a tech project I had worked on (from an internship / class / personal) describing how it pertained to the SDLC. The interviews were mostly very kind and receptive though the one from Accenture was very fast-paced and authoritative. The office itself was very large and new / impressive. Very difficult to get a sense of culture as there were hundreds of people working in cubicles. The people you past in the open hallways did not seem to interact with you at all though, it was not particularly welcoming in that sense.
