Phone Interview
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
JP Morgan came to recruit at my campus for several summer tech analyst positions. Because of my grades, I was unable to stand out and secure an interview on the spot. I asked for the head recruiter's email and sent her a couple emails stating my case (physics background, engineering/coding experience, why I wanted to work at JP Morgan). She eventually set me up with two back to back half-hour phone interviews.

On the day of the interview, I had just taken a midterm and was lacking sleep, but I tried to fight through it since I really wanted the position. The first interview was a head at one of the technology departments and he asked me some generic behavioral questions to get me comfortable. I thought I nailed them and was feeling pretty confident at this point (looking back, I could have answered them better but hey, I was sleep-deprived). I was ready for the technical questions, but some of them I couldn't answer, since I had never used those languages or applications before. He shifted gears and went through my resume with me, and wanted to learn more about my role in my fraternity. Before long, our 30 minutes were up, he wished me good luck and we hung up. I wasn't able to get his contact information to thank him later - he said the recruiter would take care of it.

The second part of the interview was about the same. The questions were all behavioral, and they were both interviewers were very nice. I followed up with the recruiter the next day, asking her to thank my interviewers for me. No response. A week went by and I asked her when I would hear back about the status of my application. No response again. I haven't heard from them since and found out that I wasn't given an offer through their website.
