investment banking summer analyst process began with an online application and assessment, followed by a first-round interview and a Superday. The interviews covered technical, behavioral, and market questions. Technical questions included “Walk me through a DCF,” “How does a $10 increase in depreciation affect the three financial statements?” and “What makes a deal accretive or dilutive?” Behavioral questions focused on why I wanted to work in investment banking and at J.P. Morgan, as well as times I had worked through a challenge or disagreement on a team. For markets, I was asked about recent deals, where I thought interest rates were headed, and how higher rates might affect M&A activity.
