Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I was selected for a first-round interview at JP Morgan's office in New York. The first round consisted of a 2 on 1 30 min interview with an Associate and VP. The interview consisted of mostly behavioral (strengths/weaknesses, leadership, team-orientated questions) and basic technicals (identifying line items on the three main financial statements, for example). Following the first round, I was selected to attend the final round, which had a pre-interview reception the night before for all candidates. The reception was mostly just a function to meet more people and for the bankers to see how candidates reacted in a non-work setting. The final round was a super day that consisted of 7 30-min interviews with an VP or higher and an associate. Some interviews were entirely behavioral, some were mostly technicals and some were about a 50-50 mix. There were about 15 candidates for which they said they would hire 4 summer analysts.
