Please describe the interview / hiring process.
The first step of the hiring process involved campus recruiting. I attended the accounting career fair on campus and met with recruiters and others who worked in various practices. I gave my elevator pitch and handed over my resume before being invited to several social events held by KPMG in my city. During this time, I had already submitted my application for the audit internship and focused on networking with professionals in the audit practice at these social events. Soon after the social events, I was notified that I was selected for an interview. The first interview I had was via phone with the office recruiter in Chicago. It was primarily behavioral questions. The next step was back-to-back 30-minute interviews with a senior manager and partner, who again merely asked behavioral questions. The interviews were surprisingly informal and conversational. From my understanding, they just wanted to see if you were a good fit for the office and if you could work well with others.
