Valuation Associate

Interview for the alternative investments group. A recruiter reached out via LinkedIn and scheduled a 30 minute call to discuss various groups within Economic & Valuation Services. Sent the recruiter my resume which he ran by the managing partner of the practice. Heard back and had three in-person interviews scheduled with the management team (30-40 minutes each). Was offered to come back for three more interviews (slightly longer) with senior managers and a partner. Interviews began with the typical small talk and then technicals. Easy start (i.e., "describe the three valuation techniques") which then dived deeper into the various methods discussed -- what discount rate would you use for xyz, what adjustments would you make to a DCF for these factors, how would you select comparables for various situations, etc. Everyone was very friendly throughout. I prepared by running the Breaking Into Wall St. guide and felt very comfortable.
