Investment Banking Analyst Intern

I applied for the position through my university's career site. There was an initial phone interview focused on describing the firm and asking my interest in the position as well as overall background. This was mostly behavioral.

Afterwards, I was invited for an in-person meeting with a senior associate. It was a generally pleasant experience though there were technicals centering around financial statements, the M&A process, and macro-level questions too. I kept my cool and did the best I could with the questions and was invited approximately 3 days later for another in-person with a managing director. This second interview was less focused on the usual financial concepts and more towards my thought process. We went over a question related to present value and some of its real-world applications. The rest of the conversation spoke to my background, interest in the firm, and usual behaviorals. I managed to do decently well and was invited for a third and final interview with another managing director.

The last interview was quite interesting and we talked generally about the tech industry and certain niche opportunities in the space. I have a specific interest in the sector and it was interesting to really hear about some of the deals they cover.
