Investment Banking Summer Analyst

I got a referral from one of the analyst I networked with, which helped me land the first round phone interview with an analyst. The phone interview was pretty easy mostly walk me through your resume along with about 5 basic accounting related questions ie. how does depreciation flow through the three statements, this interview lasted around 30min. A week after my first interview I received an email for a second phone interview, this time with an associate. This interview was similar to the first as a majority of the questions were about past experiences and fit questions, it also lasted about 30min. I was told the next step of the process would be a superday in new york, however I got dinged a week after my second interview. Overall the analyst and associate I spoke to were very laid back and friendly. The interviews I had also were very fit focused with really no valuation/technical questions at all.
