Interview
Straightforward online application process with Numerical Reasoning and SJT tests as would be expected for similar ability candidates i.e. Apprentices. Followed by a phone interview then assessment centre at their group learning centre. Assessment centre consisted of group activity, written task and 1-1 interview. Recruiters and co-ordinators all very helpful and friendly.
Interview Questions
The most unexpected part was the request for a written task, which is not common at assessment centres in my experience. A letter from a retail customer and their needs was provided, along with details of the products offered by the lender. A handwritten letter was to be produced in response to the customer, advising them on potential routes forward and products they should consider, given their financial situation and need.

Interview
I applied for the Finance stream of the Lloyds Banking Group Summer internship program. The interview process was all online and very straight forward. Its started off with two online tests, a behavioural scenarios test followed by a very simple mathematics test, both lasting about 20 minutes each. After this there was a video interview. This was actually done with a member of HR, however I know of people who had a 1 way interview where there were pre-recorded questions and they had to answer just to the screen. All the questions were behavioural, e.g. why Lloyds, why Finance etc... with all follow up questions being about experience already on my Resume.
Interview Questions
There was only one 30 minute or so interview conducted by a member of the recruiting team. They asked me questions solely focused on my CV. As I was applying to the finance stream and I had a science background, they were interested in why I was making a switch to finance. They also mentioned that a certain portion of the interns get put onto the graduate scheme in finance also and asked if this would be something I would be interested in. They asked me questions relating to my experience in accounting, (of which I had none) and my proficiency in Excel and my ability to create Macros / code in VBA.

Interview
Started off with an online application with basic questions alongside CV/College details. Following this, you are sent tests to complete and then a video interview (final stage).
Interview Questions
Standard competency questions asked about times you have worked in a team, when you have shown specific leadership qualities and what skills in particular you possess that differentiate you from your peers.

Nothing was unexpected, it helps to know the general area you are applying to and have plenty of examples from both academia and extra-curricular to support your answers.

EG: When have you gone above and beyond for a customer? When have you put others needs ahead of your own and what was that outcome?
