Equity Research Associate

Applied on the company website. Was contacted by HR within a week to meet at the New York offices and interview with three different people in 30 minute segments: HR, Director of Research, Senior Analyst. HR had a scheduling conflict, so it ended up being with DOR first. He was great. Very personable, and appeared interested in my story. All fit-based, save for a technical that came out of left field toward the end that should've been easy to answer, but I was confused about the context because we were seemingly talking about my personal investment preferences. Regardless of my fumbling, he was gracious. Next interview was with the senior analyst, who was also very easy to talk to. All fit questions, and it seemed as though I was a great fit for the coverage group. I was asked to come back the next week and take their 3 hour long psychometric test. It was admittedly miserable. several days later I got an email saying I wasn't chosen for the position, reason being they went with someone who had more experience.
