Was offered the interview less than a week in advance, and at the first impression, the interviewer scowled, barely offered to shake my hand, and proceeded to tear me apart with technicals from start to finish for a first interview. Didn't bother to shake my hand after the interview and gave many conflicting insights, such as saying how Macquarie had no M&A team, even though their website and company profile clearly stated they had a loose team. The interviewer asked me for three different industries I liked other than resources (I said TMT and CPG), and then proceeded to tell me that resources wasn't handled by US (even though Macquarie clearly had transactions in green energy in the US worth $15bn in the last 2 years alone) and said they didn't do TMT (even though they clearly had a TMT division on their US company profile).
