The first round interview process was a 1 on 2 interview with two MDs. The interview was very conversational and was essentially an informational to get to know me better.

In the evening after my interview, I was notified that I had progressed to the final round and would be required to complete an online test within 36 hours and prior to my final round interview 2 days later. The online test sucked...it is split up into quant, verbal, IQ (for lack of a better word) and personality test.

My final round interviews consisted of one 1 on 1 with an MD (Global Head of Industrials), and a 2 on 1, with an MD in the Principal Investing Group and a VP in TMET.

The interview with the global head of industrials was a bit on the technical side. some of the questions were;

1. Say, I had a $1,000 and I wanted to invest in a company...what company would you recommend? I spoke about Southwest. Of course, Southwest was arguably the best performing stock in 2014. He followed up by asking, what can Southwest do going forward to maintain its market position and even improve.

2. Subsequent to that, he asked how I would go about pitching new ideas to the CEO of Southwest...in other words..what would go into a pitch book. What types of valuation would I perform and I had to go into detail on each of the valuation methods.

The second interview was more of a behavioral in nature and they wanted to get a sense for why banking, why Macquarie, why my current business school, how I would handle analysts, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary,
