Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I first contacted a financial advisor from Merrill I met at a networking event in hopes of obtaining an internship during the fall semester. This is key. Anyone in finance likes being approached and anyone who can show the balls to ask someone for opportunities.
He invited me to come in for an interview. The interview was simple. I was interviewed by everyone on the team (including the client associates). They want to see that I have a simple understanding of finance and that I was someone who would get along with the team since I'm the only intern on the team. Know the basics of portfolio construction and what kind of products they offer.
