What are some of the reasons a company is interested in acquiring another company? Followed on with this question by asking for more reasons why, really tried to find the limit of what you knew about mergers and acquisitions.

Walk me through a DCF. What is the difference between unlevered FCF and levered FCF? Why would you use levered FCF?

Most of the other questions were just about my resume and asking what I did at previous firms. Asked some follow-up questions about my previous experiences as well.

Mix of behavioral and technical questions, including resume walkthrough. Technical questions mainly from vault guide. Also included a market sizing question
Interview Questions
Walk through an LBO and a market sizing question. Had to find the market size for strollers sold in the US. This meant total revenue of strollers sold. There was also a question about how to value a golf club manufacturer if there are no similar club manufacturers. overall very relaxed questions, mainly aimed for fit. If you studied the vault guide you will be fine. I was thrown off by the LBO and forgot to study that. The interviewer was very chill and helped me through it. He asked a follow up on why we use debt to invest.

Phone interview with analyst. My finance honors program director reached out to their HR and they arranged a phone interview with me.
Interview Questions
Basic/common interview questions:

1) Walk me through your resume
2) Why IB?
3) Why MHT Partners?
4) How many accounting classes have you taken?

The interview was fairly laid-back and was largely a behavioral/fit interview. This was my first IB interview and I performed poorly. Also was the first time they decided to recruit from my school (UTD) but they didn't end up choosing anyone from my school. Recruit mainly from Texas schools (UT, SMU) but I would advise networking with their bankers if interested.

I applied through my school. They got back to me within two weeks and set up a in person interview on campus. The interview lasted about 30 mins and it was mainly behavioral questions.
Interview Questions
What do you like about our firm? This question was only difficult because it was hard to gauge what exactly information he wanted to pull from me. I conducted extensive research of the firm and had no idea which of this information to relate to him. He ended up liking my answer and followed up with why he liked the firm.

Interview
Had initial screening call with the recruiter who then put me in touch with a banker in the office I was interested in. Was contacted several days later to let me know I was selected for a superday. The superday consisted of a meeting with everyone in the office from the Analysts to the Head MD. Additionally was asked to take a Harris Williams style case study on the office laptop. 30 minute task with no modeling required.
Interview Questions
Hardest were the behavioral questions about things in undergrad and prior, which was many, many years ago and hard to remember.

Sent in my resume to their specific analyst program email address and received a call to setup a phone interview a few weeks later. Went through two phone interviews, first with a principal then an MD a few days later. Was invited to go through a Skype superday but declined since I received an offer.

Interviews were mostly fit with a few basic technical questions that you should have down. The firm is small so they really want to make sure you fit in with everyone. Overall, the experience was pleasant and the people were very nice to speak with over the phone.
