Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Interview
I had a phone screening with the hiring manager, the day after applying. A week later there was an onsite interview, broken into 3 stages with 3 panels of economists. The first stage was a formal morning interview with the first panel of 3 PhD level economists in management, the second was a more informal interview over lunch with more junior level economists, the last stage was much like the first stage, but with a different panel of PhD level economists in management. Afterward I was asked to complete a highly technical programming/econometrics test within 24 hours. After passing the test/background check/drug test and negotiating salary, I spoke with the managing director of the department as a last level of vetting over the phone.
Interview Questions
The most difficult questions were subjective questions about graduate classes, because I had successfully anticipated the more objective questions being asked about skill sets and technical skill. It was difficult to pinpoint a favorite class since the entire program was focused on my education interests. These questions were then followed up with very specific questions about the classes. Very challenging, thoufhtful, and well posed questions, not surprising since the panels were trained to be or actually were professors..

Interview Questions
Why are you interested in Moody Analytics? --> specifically, the two interviewers were economists and they had a very macro approach. They talked about their academic background and collaborative research report, eg. weekly meetings to discuss/debate different ideas from various economists at the firm. They seemed to care a lot about a genuine interest in economics and fit.

What types of programming/CS experience do you have?

You're given two buckets, and are given 50 red marbles and 50 blue marbles. Someone reaches into a bucket at random and picks out a marble. Which configuration of marbles maximizes the probability of the person picking a red marble? You can put the marbles into any bucket you want, as long as all the marbles are in a bucket (you can even put all the marbles in one bucket if you'd like)

Interview
The process was fairly informal at the time, but has gotten much more detailed. I did a phone screen with someone at the same level I'd be hired as, than came to the office for a total of 3 in person interviews (a peer, the person who would manage me, and his supervisor). The questions weren't overly technical, but that's because I didn't have a lot of risk management experience on my resume. They did want to know that I could think in a structured manner and had an understanding of the financial markets. This process has changed though, and we know require candidate to give a presentation of a Risk Measurement subject to ~5-7 members of the group.
Interview Questions
How would you evaluate the credit risk of a waste management company?

I don't remember my exact answer, but I went through the key financial statement line items/ratios, and them some of the more qualitative factors. This was almost structured like a response to consulting case interview.
Is a loan riskier than a bond?

The answer is no, though I'm not sure I got that right at the time. This has to do with capital structure.
