Please describe the interview / hiring process.
While applying online, I had to hand in my CV, answer some motivational/background questions and write a cover letter.
After applying online, I got an invite to take a programming test online (using Codility) and a phone interview. This programming test was a 60-minute test and consisted of one (relatively) large programming assignment. The phone interview consisted of about 5 minutes of casual non-technical questions (probably to get you less nervous), following by about 30 minutes of technical questions, including one small programming challenge that you had to solve and explain to the interviewer. The phone interview has to be done after your programming assignment: they explained the phone interview might be based on the results of your programming assignment. After these tests, an on-site interview day was planned. This interview day took 6 hours and consisted of 4 rounds: one group assignment, one interview on technical (relatively theoretical) knowledge, one technical design interview and one interpersonal interview.
After this interview you get a call within a week from the recruiter with the results and explanation.

Planning and timeframe:
Starting the online programming test to completing the interview day could take less than a week. They called me back 30 minutes after the phone interview to invite me to the interview day. The planning is relatively lenient: you can of course pick the moment to do the online programming test. For the phone interview there is a scheduling tool on their website.

Content of the interviews:
As most of the interviews are technical, programming knowledge and theoretical Computer Science knowledge is required. In particular: hashmaps, strings in Java, multithreading, locking of resources (in Java), general Windows and Linux knowledge, software design, translating a business case to software, basic SQL, advanced SQL (JOIN statements mostly).
Keep in mind that they will ask about everything you list on your CV (they will tell you this themselves on their website). So make sure you brush anything you haven't used for some time.
