Please describe the interview / hiring process.
The internship was originally posted from a school career office. It was taken down but I contacted the company personally through e-mail outside of the school career office. I was asked to send a resume followed by a phone call interview. At the end of the conversation on the phone I was asked to come in for a group interview with 3 other Associates a week later. I came in and was asked to go over my resume, which I demonstrated my interest in the company and future desires, along with expressing my competence in capital markets. When I started talking about where my passion started, in the foundation of a class structured around portfolio theory and strategy, I received laughter from the interviewers telling me to pump the brakes. I then was asked several questions from the other Associates that were sitting in. Questions like, how did I tolerate failure, what have I done to show I have a go-getter attitude, and how well do I tolerate commands and tasks asked for. Then they asked if I had any further questions and I asked them as a whole, how they like working here and what their future plans were. I thanked them for their time and expressed that I really wanted this opportunity. They told me they would review and contact me within a week regardless of the outcome. I received a call two days later saying they would love to have me. Took about 1 month to go through the paperwork from HR and I started following the completion of that.
