Research Associate

Overall I had 17 interviews, 15 of these with people from the research team and 1 from HR, and one with research management. Each interview was pretty similar, asking about my motivations for wanting to move into research, and my current employment experience to date (I have come from a big 4 accounting background).

I applied online, and heard back about a month later. First interview was with someone from the management team, discussing mostly my motivations, achievements to date etc. After this, I went to the offices at Canary Wharf and had 5 interviews with people from various research sectors. Again, as mentioned previously this discussed my motivations, as well as stocks I liked and why. This essentially kept going until I had met 15 research guys, one HR, and one research management. The interviews were so numerous more to assign my fit with a team rather than my competence it seemed.
