Summer Analyst

I applied online for the London summer analyst position in investment banking. Applied at the start of September, and started the phone interviews in October. AC in the end of November.

All of the interviews we're quite relaxed, some basic finance questions, walk me through a DCF, how would you calculate WACC and why, which valuation method would give the highest valuation?

Most important part was demonstrating and talking to why I wanted to go into Investment Banking - big focus on what was driving the choice rather than anything else.

Took a week or so to hear back from the first phone interview, three weeks for the second phone interview (I informed them I had an exploding offer from another bank and that did the trick with getting an AC). Got the offer 2 days after the AC so at least that was quick.

Generally it's a firm with really nice people, genuinely interested in who they're hiring, they seem to try and avoid toxic finance stereotypes so I would just be yourself.
