I was able to get an informational interview over the phone with a vice president through a family connection. We talked for about an hour about my future career and why I thought morgan Stanley would be a great learning environment. He invited me to come to the new York office about two weeks later for a more formal interview. My first interview was with him, and went pretty smoothly. After about 45 minutes he sent me off to my final interview with his managing director. The interview with his MD was more technical and included questioning about my financial modeling knowledge and excel skills. The interview with the MD was somewhat tougher, but he seemed like he would be a pretty cool guy to work for.
