1 on 1 Interview
Group Interview
Presentation
IQ / Intelligence Test
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
1) Initial Application mid September. CV and Cover Letter both required, no other written questions

2) Automatically received online assessment - 2 tests, a situational judgement and deductive reasoning test

3) Hirevue received start of october. Quite a few questions (think 7-10). Contained motivational type questions "Why Morgan Stanley?", competency type STAR questions. Additionally unlike many contained technical questions where in words describe how to solve a really simple programming problem. Problems were extremely basic. Had *2 opportunities* to record answer for each question in the hirevue

4) Early-Mid December: Assessment Centre. 4 rounds. First round was group task. Half cohort at AC put in a room and given a task. Was something like decide on a new modern european venue. Had to decide on capacity, location (urban/rural etc) and think type of transport allowed (e.g cars, only public transport etc). Also 3 flagship USP features. Each person had specific roles so also had to advocate for their deparment. Mine was security so aim to keep capacity low, non urban area so easier to manage etc. Diff stakeholders with conflicting interests so had to advocate for own whilst considering benefit of overall project. After end of time overall team had to present their decisions. Second was strengths based interview, extremely chill for me. Behavioural type questions but no "Why MS" / "Why Tech" etc. Loads of questions one after the other, quite fast paced. Interviewer very receptive. Third was technical breadth and depth. Interviewer had a whole book of technical questions and sped through so many from various topics they chose. E.g databases, data structures, algorithms, web. Like A-Level CS type knowledge. Final was hackerrank. Not actual DSA question, more like system design - "how to design a smart fridge? what features?". And then follow up design algorithms for that (e.g how to use ingredients in fridge to determine recipes...more detail given ofc)
