Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Started with applying online. After 3 weeks, I got an email from HR asking me to take a writing and research test. After saying "yes," i was given a week to complete a writing assignment. The system gives you 90 minutes and you need to finish it in one sitting. The test required you to analyze a fake index fund and write about the index. Should only take 45 - 60 minutes since there is only so much you can do with single point-in-time data (no time series, etc.).

The system said I would be contacted in one week. Two weeks later, I was contacted to do a phone interview with some members of the team. The interview was 2 hours long and consisted of 4 interviews (each roughly 30 minutes). The first interview was with an analyst and senior analyst on the index team. Most fit questions. Mostly asking about my previous index experience. Next was with a strategist. More of the same questions, very laid back. The next was with the global director. Like the following 2 interviews, it was very laid back and behavioral. The last interview was with HR/Recruiter. Once again, was mostly behavioral. However, I was asked more "tell me a time..." questions with HR.

I was told they would contact me by the end of the week. After 2 weeks passed, I followed up with HR. A few minutes after emailing, I got a call from HR stating that they were interested and I was invited to the final round. The final round was consisted of building a presentation/pitch for a specific index. I ended up meeting with the same people I met during the first interview, this time on Skype. The first two people asked more questions regarding fixed income indexes (how they're constructed and up/downsides to their construction). After, I presented my idea to the Global Director and Strategist. Presentation lasted about 30 minutes, with 30 minutes following. I presented a Fixed Income index, so mostly based on duration/convexity and how it would fair if interest rates increased.

Was told I would hear back in 2 weeks. 3 weeks later, I was informed by the global director that they would be extending me an offer. Took another 3 weeks before I got the offer package.

Overall, not a very stressful interview...but very time consuming. Hint: what ever timeline they give you, add 1-2 weeks. Don't worry about following up with HR, they were quick and happy to respond.
