Interview
Great people, semi- informal type of interview, discussed experience before & why I wanted to work in this indistry. Pitched 3 stocks, 1 buy, 1 hold, 1 sell. 2 of them short, but the buy was a more complete one with model walkthrough & sort of thesis review, again very informal discussion, wasn’t a checklist based discussion. My advice: you have to know the basics but what’s more important is what you bring to the discussion… If you modeled something wrong in the model you presented, it’s not much about the mistake, it’s more about “did you have a reasoning for doing it this way or did you just throw that in there carelessly?” So in short, it’s all about “even if you don’t know it all, are you interested in learning & understanding what you’re doing?”.
Interview Questions
Can you walk me through the 3-statement impact if is less than you forecasted? (Not the hardest but unexpected as usually it’s the other way around), How do you approach valuation of companies that just became public (no or barely no historicals).
