3. The interview was 80% behavioral (walk me through your resume, tell me about a time, why finance) and 20% technical (how financial statements are tied together, etc
4. Received offer about 1.5 weeks later
Interview Questions
How are the financial statements connected? Why finance? Why New York Life? Why do you want to intern in NYC and not stay in your home town? Why did you pick Georgia state as your school?

The most difficult for me was the financial statements but as long as you understand basic accounting and beginning finance classes you should be good. The interviewer was really nice and they were really engaging in the interview and they showed a large amount of hospitality toward the people they were interviewing.

Interview
The first round interview was with a member from strtegy team, the questions are basically behavioral, the interviewer was nice and patient to answer my questions.
Interview Questions
The only technical question is explain the difference between term and life insuranc, this was very easy. Theyn followed by lot of behavioral question, it seemed like the interviewer was reading the question list from HR and recording the answers for them. I ansered all the questions and I believe they were not bad, but I failed to move on to the next round. Behavioral questions were somehow expected but still difficult to provide a perfect answer because you need to gave some real life examples.

The interview process was straight forward. It consisted of a screening call with HR, and a phone interview with the hiring manager, and 2 in-person interviews with the same hiring manager and the head of the group. The entire process took about 3 weeks.
Interview Questions
The most difficult or unexpected interview questions asked were more behavioral. They were looking for someone to come in and add new ideas and disrupt the status quo. Example questions:

1. Describe a time when you struggled to build a relationship with someone important. How did you eventually overcome that?

2. When you’re working with a large number of customers, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. How do you go about prioritizing your customers’ needs?

What do you think inhibits people from getting the job done correctly?

Interview
An employee at the company referred me for the position. Shortly after I received a link to apply online. I was contacted by HR and had a brief 5-10 minute phone screening that asked basic questions (tell me about yourself, why CRE, etc.). Next interview is with the senior director of the group, almost entirely behavioral, talking about yourself and why you're interested in commercial real estate. A week or two later I had a similar interview with the director of the group and received an offer the following week. The process is almost entirely about fit/personality.
Interview Questions
There weren't any surprises or trick questions. The interview was essentially a conversation about the company and the position. The basics were, tell me about yourself, why CRE, etc. I would say this is a very straightforward process, walk them through your resume and clearly link some of your past experiences to the job description (i.e. some analytical experience in your past, use of excel, etc.), show some curiosity, etc. Come prepared with questions about the role, that is essentially all that you need to do.
