Interview
It moved quickly. I emailed the vice chairman early in the morning and he got back to me right away, connecting me with the rest of the team. I made sure my schedule was flexible to ensure I could accommodate them. I had two full days of interviews where I met the whole team and was offered the job.
Interview Questions
There wasn't any true technical questions. I was asked about my background, where I wanted to be, and what my goals were. I would say the toughest part was to relate my past experiences to how that would translate to the role.

Interview
First step was a panel interview with primary appraiser and senior analyst. Mainly behavioral questions and resume questions, but they will test knowledge on specific industry you are applying to (i.e. retail, industrial, hotel). After this, you take a modeling test with assumptions given and it’s a DCF with a value conclusion. The final step is a writing test, asking you to write about a specific asset with information that you can’t find online easily.
Interview Questions
The most unexpected question was “What is the difference between a Hampton Inn and a Residence Inn?”

Interview
Simple process. Set up brief call through a family friend. Was invited to interview with the team following that. Spoke to an associate and then to the Executive Managing Director and finally to my prospective boss. Pleasant process.
Interview Questions
Interview was really straight forward. Very unstructured process. I think emphasis was mainly on company fit and team fit. Be ready to talk about why you want to work in commercial real estate. Be relaxed and confident, this is what makes a good CRE professional. Definitely come ready with some current events to discuss, this helped me a ton. Other than that, just asked me a lot of behavioral questions:
- What was your major?
- Why did you study what you did?
- Tell me about your extracurriculars?
- Why commercial real estate?
