I applied on-line, was invited to take 2 tests (Numerical and Logical Reasoning). After that I got an e-mail which said that I passed the tests and my application was under consideration, then I waited for almost 2 months to be invited to interviews in their London office. There were 2 interviews, the process took 2 hours. Before the interviews they gave me a report on portfolio strategies and gave me around 50 min to read it and prepare a short presentation. I was supposed to present to the 2nd interviewer. So, during my first interview a girl from Macro research asked me general questions about my background, motivation, then about news (she wanted to know macro news). The second interviewer (also from Macro Research, even though I applied to Equity Research) asked to present a short description of the report, and she asked questions while I was presenting. All the questions were on Macroeconomics theory and Macro news. As I expected to get some equity research specific questions I wasn't prepared to talk about macro in depth, so, I didn't get a chance to attend the second round. Hope, it helps.
