Interview Questions
It is a search fund, so I was asked about the internal operations of search fund and how they manage to turn a profit. I thought it was initially a standard private equity fund, but I was thrown off guard when he stated it was a one-man search fund. The owner and principal of the fund is a rather nice guy so he calmly and kindly explained to me how is operation worked and then asked some basic questions that any applicant should be able to answer.

1. How do search funds turn a profit and what is EBITDA?
2. Why do we look at EBITDA when looking for companies to buyout?
3. Have you read the Stanford primer over search funds?
