I met them at a college recruiting fair where they were giving mock versions of their mental maths test - 80 multiple choice questions to answer in 8 minutes, more on this later. I did pretty well on that so I submitted my application and they invited me to a test meeting held in my city.

The test consists of 3 stages:

- the first is a mental maths test, multiple choice, 80 questions to be answered in 8 minutes. Every correct answer gives you +1 point, every incorrect answer is -2. You do not have to finish all questions in the allotted time but you are not allowed to skip questions.

- the second is 25 sequences where you have to guess the next element. 30 minutes are given and this is a lot more relaxed. Also, there is no negative scoring for incorrect answers.

- the third is mental maths again, 40 questions in ten minutes. This is multiple choice but with a "none of the above" options.

After passing this, a phone interview with a recruiter was scheduled. This consisted mostly of standard questions (motivation, talk me through your CV etc.). A few days later I was called back to invite me for an onsite interview. I also had to take a personality test online.

The onsite interview was one hour with HR and the head of training focusing on personality and behaviour, one hour with two traders asking technical questions and one hour sitting with a trader at their desk.

All throughout the process, extensive feedback was given.
