General Interview Information
Interview Details
First, I had an in person interview with 2 directors. The interview was your typical IB interview - Tell us your story. Why IB? Why this firm? And of course, some technicals. Technicals were on the easier side of the scale. Directors were quite aggressive and didn't hesitate to ask very personal questions, but I didn't mind this.
After the first interview, I was asked to complete a report and was given 48 hours to do so (over the weekend). Report consisted of quantitative/qualitative analysis of a public company, ending with some type of investment recommendation.
After that I was invited for a second, "super day", style interview. It started with a similar interview to my first one (with the same 2 directors, and 1 additional one that wasn't able to make the first one). This was followed by 3 more 30 minute interviews with other members of the IB team (I believe the groups were organized into VP's, Associates and then Analysts). Style of interview gradually became less formal as you moved down the ladder. Analysts & Associates were obviously more concerned with what kind of person you would be like to hangout with for hours and what your work ethic is like.
