Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Applied online and heard back from an MD in the group a few weeks later about setting up time to discuss the role. The interview process was unstructured as I was being interviewed after the formal/structured Super Day process had already been completed, but the team was responsive and prompt in scheduling my interviews. I had 3 interviews in total, 2 with MDs and 1 with a Director. All interviews were virtual though Microsoft Teams and were spread out over 2 weeks. The interviews were mostly behavioral, but with some questions to gauge technical proficiency in excel and understanding of the banking industry. Scheduling of interviews was done over email directly with the interviewer (HR was not involved in the process outside of sending my resume to the team). My interviewers were very professional, easy to get along with, and provided thorough answers to all my questions. The team is on the leaner side given the size of the bank, but culture appears to be a focus point for group leadership with an emphasis on mentorship and professional development. Candidates should be prepared to discuss their background and interest in PNC, as well as being aware of macroeconomic trends that can affect the financial/banking sector.
