Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Applied online and then had an employee referral push me through to the next step. I then had a phone interview where I was asked basic questions about myself, PNC, and my resume. Extremely simple and laid back, no technicals at all. Received a phone call that I was moving on to the next step. I went to the super day in Pittsburgh where I was placed in a hotel the night before and given a reimbursement form for transportation and other costs associated with my trip (food allotment and gas if you drove). The following morning I received a folder with information and a name tag that placed me at a table with approximately 5 other students and an employee host who had been through a similar process in the recent past. I had interviews with three different employees throughout the day (one on one) and asked more questions about why PNC, walking them through my resume, basic behavioral questions (what's your biggest weakness, what would you do if someone on your team wasn't putting out), ending with approximately one technical question from one interviewer (What's the most important item on a balance sheet to value a company - if you can only choose one). All interviewers were honest, extremely nice, yet unique - I enjoyed speaking with them and felt relaxed throughout the process. Questions are encouraged and a variety of experiences will bring you a wealth of answers. The host at our table, along with others that came over and chatted throughout the day, were down to earth individuals. The other students were also nice and outgoing which made the day go by quickly. We were all served a light breakfast and coffee the morning of and then served a lunch towards the end of the day. All in all, it was an outstanding experience a peek into the quality and care for employees at PNC and I'm happy I was given the opportunity!
