Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Cold-emailed/cold-called associates in groups I was interested in. After confirming the firm was a potential fit for my desired SA experience, I reached out to department supervisors with a resume/cover letter and followed up via phone. Was later invited in for an interview where I answered typical fit questions (walk me through your resume, why research, etc) and some light technicals (how do 3 statements link together, pitch a stock) with several analysts. Received a call for a second round phone interview with another senior analyst.

Intensity of interview questions and overall feel depends on the analyst you're speaking with. Some have backgrounds at BBs, some at MMs, and others at lower-end boutiques. Have a fundamental understanding of technicals and be personable. Given the location, competition isn't incredibly strong.
