The number you see in the middle of the doughnut pie chart is the simple average of these scores. If you hover over the various sections of the donut, you will see the % breakdown of each score given.

The percentile score in the title is calculated across the entire Company Database and uses an adjusted score based on Bayesian Estimates (to account for companies that have few interview insights). Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Interview
Straightforward -- started with phone screening and moved to in-person with two analysts, two directors, and two managing directors. Asked basic technicals and behaviorals, mostly to look for fit.
Interview Questions
There weren't any unexpected interview questions aside from a quick multiplication question (ex. What is 80 * 42?) Mostly standard questions such as What is a DCF, What are the 3 financial statements, Can you explain XYZ on your resume?, Walk me through your resume.

With the directors and managing directors, the questions were behavioral and mostly looking through resume/seeing if candidate is a fit for the office. Again, same questions such as Tell me about XYZ experience on your resume. Very easy-going.

Interview
That was mid/late 2017. I applied online through Handshake and got an offer notice a few days later. Since I went to school in the Newport Beach area, I did not do a phone interview but directly went to the office for a panel interview. 3 people (my future two associates and my MD) and myself.
The associates are very nice --- which turned out to be true when i worked with them. MD, less so hehe.
Mostly fit questions, one test regarding some industry knowledge --- they sent you a paragraph before you went to the office and wanted to see how much time you have invested in researching the article.
The process really depends on what the MD thinks, as later I've had new interns who had 2 rounds of phone interviews before the office round.
Got the offer less than a week and took it.
Interview Questions
as I've said previously, the interview process is very arbitrary. This is equity research so all of it or almost the whole process is dictated by the senior analyst himself/herself. For me, i only had 1 office round which lasted about 1 hour, and kind of difficult. not cut-throat difficult but certainly not easy.

I did not get asked tell me about yourself, but got asked a lot of questions on my resume, why my majors, why this university, the class I learnt the most, why this project, why this organization, why I think I am a good candidate.

Interview
They were looking to fill the position fairly quickly so the process was pretty quick. They called me to give a quick screen with some general questions and asked me about my language skills. Had an in person interview almost immediately afterwards. Prior to the interview, they sent a paragraph for me to translate and send back to them. The interview was laidback and comfortable and the interview conference room was really nice with a great view. Interview mostly revolved around the resume with some very basic semi-technical questions only if the natural flow of conversation led there.
Interview Questions
Nothing was that out of the ordinary. They did ask a couple industry specific questions but they were completely understanding if you did not know the answer to it. They seemed to be more looking for interest and an ability to think for yourself while formulating something coherent. They asked about what you have invested in the past and talked at length about whatever stock you said. This could be really easy if you are interested and prepared, but could also be a pretty obvious giveaway if you aren't

Interview
Cold-emailed/cold-called associates in groups I was interested in. After confirming the firm was a potential fit for my desired SA experience, I reached out to department supervisors with a resume/cover letter and followed up via phone. Was later invited in for an interview where I answered typical fit questions (walk me through your resume, why research, etc) and some light technicals (how do 3 statements link together, pitch a stock) with several analysts. Received a call for a second round phone interview with another senior analyst.

Intensity of interview questions and overall feel depends on the analyst you're speaking with. Some have backgrounds at BBs, some at MMs, and others at lower-end boutiques. Have a fundamental understanding of technicals and be personable. Given the location, competition isn't incredibly strong.
Interview Questions
Why were you at a previous internship for only X months?
What value-add do sell-side analysts contribute in a fund's investment process?
Where else have you interviewed?

The interview was one on one for the most part. At one point there were two guys in the conference room asking questions. I spoke with everyone in the group. They don't have any formal training program so they said they look for experienced hires. They asked a mix of fit/technical questions.

Interview
Began with a phone interview, and then superday. Superday wasn't too long, about 2-3 hours. Was either a one-on-one or two-on-one. Questions weren't too technical but covered the basics on valuation, accounting, and corporate finance. After the interview, had a week to prepare a case study comparing two companies in a powerpoint format.
Interview Questions
How would accrued compensation going up by $10 affect the three statements?

Relatively straight-forward accounting questions, I think they just wanted to make sure that you knew the basics. Most of the other questions were more qualitative, I think they wanted to judge your motivations for pursuing banking. Other qualitative questions regarded personal ties to the area (Newport Beach), in order for them to see if you really wanted to be in a city instead. I also got a few questions about my activities under the "skills, activities & interests" portion of my resume - again I think to judge my personality.
Compare these two companies in a case study: ZAGG and SKULLCANDY.

Had a week to put together some slides with the end goal to create a document that the managing director's could use to show to client's. I pulled together some comps and showed some relative value metrics. I was instructed to analyze these two companies both qualitatively and quantatively. I looked at equity research for both firms to help get up to speed on the two companies and the industry. I looked at both the company websites to get an idea for some of the currenct product offerings each company had. I didn't get much feedback on my work in the end.
