Interview
Two associates interviewed me for the job opportunity. It was my first investment banking interview and the questions were pretty standard. What really set them apart was that one of the associates was intentionally trying to tie me up and rebutting everything I stated. Didn't seem very pleasant people to work with, but then again it could have been my interview experience. Little to no technicals

Personality Test
Interview
Reached out to someone in senior level management who referred me to the HR person. HR scheduled a phone call with me to talk about my resume and background — it was a very informal process. I later had my interview with the analyst over Skype. Everyone was very nice and it seemed like they got along well.
Interview Questions
Can you tell me about a tech company you like, and why? Basically they want to see that you are keeping updated on the technology sector. There were also the standard "walk me through your resume" questions followed by more detailed questions on what exactly you worked on in your past internships. Overall it was a very casual yet comprehensive interview.

One thing I will note is that they are a deceptively selective company to get hired at. There are only three investment banking intern slots open for the summer, and they recruit at all of the Ivies, top privates, and top California schools.

Interview
Was referred and received an email two weeks later for an interview two weeks after that. Went to the interview, was pressure cooked, and came out after an hour.
There were two people interviewing me, one an analyst, and the other an associate, and they generally did not ask about technical questions, mostly staying on general work experience as well as behavioral questions.
Interview Questions
Why do you want to be on the sell side over the buy side when you are already on the buy side? Why make the transition
What are the basic valuation techniques and can you walk through exactly what you had to do with them?

Interview
Pretty lack luster. They were really rude in the interview and tried to play up how similar they were to "big wall street firms" by doing things like acting stuffy. They're a small firm that does mostly media deals so they don't have much to really be stuffy about. Overall, not too impressed.
Interview Questions
How would you describe the internet to someone in the 1700s?
Name the hottest app on the market right now (and obviously explain why you picked it).

Background Check
Interview
I initially made contact through a Managing Director and began the interview process with a phone screen with an Associate. The phone screen was to assess basic competence and to ascertain whether I had a very basic understanding and interest in investment banking, technology and markets in general. I was brought in for a superday the following week. Each interview focused on different topics including basic accounting and valuation, tech industry questions as well as several brain teasers. I received an offer roughly 1 week later.
Interview Questions
Question: How would you explain the internet to a person living in colonial America?

(Short) Answer: Akin to the largest library you can visualize.
Question: What is one trend within digital media you believe will make the biggest splash within the next year or two?

Answer: Democratization of content creation and distribution.
