Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Next round is the final round, wil consist of 3 partners/higher level folks with a case & behavioral each. Pretty standard strategy cases with emphasis on pricing/market access. Must ace the cases to succeed.

Interview
I received a 45-minute first round interview with a current 1st year consultant at Simon-Kucher and Partners. 6 days later, I received a final round invitation in their NYC office.
Interview Questions
The most difficult question that I was asked was probably the case, which was primarily pricing driven. This case had a lot of unintuitive questions about pricing and understanding pricing strategy. Some of the sub-case questions included, why would you price this way and how does the nature of the product affect the pricing of it. I was also given some basic behavirouals including my interest in the firm and why I was not taking my return offer at my previous company, which was also in consulting.

Phone Interview
1 on 1 Interview
Interview
Firm stopped OCR at my top 10 undergrad school but had a friend who started there 1.5 years ago. He passed along my resume and cover letter to recruiting team. I got a phone interview which was a couple basic behaviorals (tell me about yourself, why consulting, why this firm, etc.) and then a 20-25 minute case. After passing, had a second phone interview that was similar structured. Then got called in for the super day, which was a 30 min or so math test (was reasonably basic) and 3 1-on-1 interviews that were 10 minutes of behaviorals and 20-30 minute cases (with senior consultant, project lead, and a partner).

Didn't get the offer. After seeking feedback was told I excelled at the behaviorals but case skills weren't sharp enough (the final round cases were quite confusing though and not presented as clearly as they could have been). All around good learning experience
Interview Questions
Make sure you have your story perfected and run it by people who actually work in consulting beforehand. Ideal time to do this is in June/July before full time apps open because once recruiting starts at the end of summer it becomes busy for everyone. Reach out to any friends and family. Use your alumni directory and LinkedIn to find people and then reach out via email.

Do as many practice cases as possible. Once you've done a few dozen on your own, do them with friends who ideally have some consulting experience (full time or internship).

Interview
Apply through on-campus recruiting, was selected to go for on-campus interview, didn't make to second round.
Interview Questions
Most of the questions are expected, however I made a huge mistake at the beginning by not asking the objective of the case interview, it didn't go downhill from that point but it was hard to catch up because of the negative image the interviewer had on me. The framework I came up was ok, he liked it. He only picked one specific bucket to dive right into and then drill with a lot more questions. the problem was around pricing a second generation product after its unsuccessful first generation launch.

Phone Interview

Interview
I interviewed online. There were 3 rounds. The first was an HR interview that lasted 15 mins, followed by a phone interview. The phone interview was a case and fit interview for 50 mins. They then flew me to SF for a final round. This consisted of 15 min math test and 3 case interviews with the partners.
Interview Questions
The case was about a medical device company that is been in the field for 15 years and is the only one of its kind. A new competition has entered and you need to decide if the company should change its price accordingly to respond to the competition.

Interview Questions
Why do you want to go into this type of consulting? (Simon Kucher is a price consulting firm, not a "big 4" or even strategy consulting firm. What threw me off is that the interviewer did not understand the case question, so we spent a lot of time trying to decipher it for ourselves. Why do you want to go into this type of consulting?
