Interview
Super lay back hiring process process, I emailed one of the MD's 2 weeks prior to getting my interview with them. The interview was mostly behavioral based questions such as: Walk me through your resume. Why Investment Banking? Why SPC? Three strengths and three weaknesses? What do you know about Investment Banking? How do you feel about working from home? Do you think working from home will have an effect on the quality of your work? Give me an example of a time where you were on a team and needed to work with people who might not have the same knowledge / skillset as you do? etc.

Interview
Stone Pier Capital has a structured internship program in place for students with any level of experience, which made it an attractive internship for me to pursue. I reached out to one of the MD's via email in early July, who responded later that day with a request to contact him again in mid-August.

Upon emailing him and the other MD in August, I set up a phone interview for the following week. The phone interview was basic and consisted of me telling my story and answering a few expected questions (why finance, why SPC, etc.). A little over a week later, I was informed that I had been selected as one of the interns. It was a very smooth and easy process overall.
Interview Questions
Why Stone Pier Capital?

I talked about how them having a structured program for students like me spoke a lot about how they wanted students to learn and succeed.
How did you get interested in finance?

I spoke about how I had talked with two cousins of mine that work at a BB IBD and how their description of the work had convinced me to choose finance as a major. Research and taking classes since then has convinced me finance is my interest.

Interview Questions
How do you feel about working from home? Do you think working from home will have an effect on the quality of your work?
I don't mind working from home. In fact I think it will be beneficial since I do some of my highest quality work between the hours of 10pm-2am.
