What did the interview consist of?
1 on 1 Interview
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I was referred by a recruiter who ended up not following up with me (I suspect she was notified that I received a better offer). The interview was in the middle office meeting rooms on Bay st. In the hallway I met another individual (with an MBA) who was interviewing that day for a management position in the same division. He turned out to be the most impressive person I met that day. The interviewer was late by 30 minutes, did not apologize and informed me that they were a different person that was supposed to interview me. We subsequently sat down in a worn down meeting room (I mean really worn down). The questions were mostly factual about my knowledge of capital markets and behavioural ones. This person (whose title was risk manger) had NO KNOWLAGE of finance and risk. She actually mentioned in response to an interview answer I gave: “I don’t understand how expectations have anything to do with the pricing of a swap”. This was the worst interview I ever had (and this includes fast food) and made me forswear to never work for a Canadian bank.
