Conducted on teams for the first round interview, usually paired up with employees who are alumni from your university. The questions were across four different things, behavioural, situational, technical and brain teasers. It wasn’t hard to get the answers wrong as it’s your typical S&T interview.
Questions like tell me about a market trend you’re looking at currently, couple of things like what is gold trading at right now, etc

Background Check
Interview
The process began with a first-round virtual interview consisting of two one-on-one conversations, one with an analyst and one with an associate. These interviews focused primarily on technical knowledge, with some discussion of my background, experience, and interest in the firm.
I was then invited to a second-round interview with a VP. This conversation was more senior-level and focused on my experience, motivation for joining the firm, understanding of the role, and overall fit.
The final stage was an in-person Superday consisting of four back-to-back interviews with professionals from different groups across the firm. My first interview was with an associate in Equity Capital Markets. The second was with a senior professional in the Real Estate group. The third was with a VP in one of the coverage groups. The final interview was with an associate in M&A, who asked most of the technical questions.
Interview Questions
The most difficult question involved the accounting treatment of payment-in-kind (PIK) interest over three years. The interviewer gave me a scenario with $100 of debt carrying a 10% annual PIK interest rate and asked me to calculate how the debt balance would change each year. Because the interest was not paid in cash, it accrued to the principal and compounded annually. The balance increased to $110 after year one, $121 after year two, and $133.10 after year three. I also explained that the PIK interest would be recorded as interest expense on the income statement, added back as a noncash expense on the cash flow statement, and reflected as an increase in the debt balance on the balance sheet.

Phone Interview
Interview
Got a first round through online application. Was around 30 minutes online with 2 associates on the team. People seemed really nice and easy to talk to. Asked basic questions like TMAY and Why TD but also more advanced technicals/valuation questions like different scenarios employing different valuation methods and asking you to calculate on the spot. Did not hear back after first round but was told there might be a second wave (but did not hear back for that either)

The interview process began with a first-round phone interview with an associate that included a mix of behavioral and technical questions. After passing that, I was invited to an online Superday, which consisted of three back-to-back interviews with two associates and a VP. The first two interviews were behavioral, and the third was fully technical. The process was smooth, and the recruiter stayed in contact with me after the interview, keeping me updated on their progress. The culture seems strong relative to other firms I’ve interviewed with.

Interview
Was an interview with TD Securities for their DCM Summer Analyst role in Toronto, Canada. They reached out through email originally to schedule an R1 5 days after I submitted an application. R1s was with a VP of DCM and was mostly market with a couple technical on WACC and TMAY, but spent most of the time talking about interest rates and bond issuance windows. I'd say interview is very person dependent as it could have gone the other way just as easily
