Assistant Vice President

I was made aware of the role via a friend who knew an incumbent business head. I sent my resume and heard back within about ten days.

An introductory phone call followed, on which I was invited to come in and interview with the senior partner in the region, the business head for the role I was applying for and a VP to whom I would be reporting.

The interview was a 1-on-1 with the partner immediately followed by a 2-on-1 with the business head and VP. Nothing particularly difficult from a technical perspective (I was going lateral) with predominantly fit questions. The whole process took about 90 minutes and everyone was very pleasant.

I received a call about two weeks later from the business head with an offer. There is no real HR department at the company, more of a singular HR head based out of the New York office, so most hiring is done directly with no real liaison with HR other than for background checks.
