HR called in about a week after I submitted application online, did not ask any questions, confirmed time for interview. Interview was with two team leads, after which I took a skills test. The interview was under 1.5 hrs. The interviewers asked me to introduce myself, and then asked questions that were centered around if I could do the work without training. They asked if I had worked with stock exchanges directly.

For the skills test, you could choose between translation only, financial markets only, or both. I chose both, and I was asked general questions on international financial markets and accounting, and had to translate several short passages that were either bond or company announcements. You were given 2 hours to complete the test.

I did not get the offer, which I suspect might be for two reasons. First, I might have asked for too high of a salary, Reuters is known to be paying pretty low. Secondly it seems that they were looking for ideally some one to have come from a competitor that could do the job without any training from day one. They repeatedly emphasized, "but you have never done exactly what we do", even though I believe that I have demonstrated that I competently possess the skills that this position requires.
