Graduate Quant Trader Developer
General Interview Information
Interview Details
First they sent me an online assessment with 3 problems, one of them related to house prices. They give ample time to solve these 3 problems, so make sure you have the most optimal way of solving these coding problems. I recommend solving using python for simplified syntax.
Next they sent me an online 1-way video interview. There were 2 brainteasers (10 minute time limit to solve each one). One of them was using algebra and geometry and the other was a brainteaser about the number of siblings. The motivational questions are really important alongside getting the brainteasers correct. As to how to prepare for the brainteasers, it really is just doing a lot of them, and having faith in yourself that you will get the trick in the moment. You might not get the trick in the moment, and that's okay, just something to learn from. You have to get both brainteasers correct to pass to next round.
To prepare for the third round I recommend Tibra's open source notebooks on statistical analysis. They comprehensively cover the basics of time series.
The third round was a data analysis task. Prepare well on time series concepts - stationarity, ARIMA, GARCH, potentially VAR models and cointegration. Generate a few time series in python and model them, and try some trading strategies. Try think of some trading strategies beforehand, and practice.
I didn't get past this point because despite my analysis being good, my trading strategy code had a bug which I couldn't solve until 5 minutes after the interview.
