Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Interview
Applied through my campus' careers portal and did a 2 on 1 interview with a director and a junior analyst on campus. They offered 11 different 30-minute time slots to interview on one day. Questions were very behavioral. The analysts focus on energy, but seem to take a generalist approach i.e. an analyst is not just looking at midstream oil companies. Basically every analyst is a CFA charterholder. Collaborative culture of bouncing ideas around.
Interview Questions
Do you follow the markets/have you done research on any companies? Have you taken the Valuation (Investments) class? Have you taken the Applied Portfolio Management class? Tell me about yourself? Talk about your internship experience? The interview was very short. I was not well enough prepared, and I believe that they ended things quickly after I revealed that I did not follow the markets much/did not have a stock pitch. I would probably go into the interview with a stock pitch. I would assume that the next round of interviews, which I did not make it to, would have been more technical.

Interview
It was a female and male interviewee. They asked many questions about client portfolios and risk tolerance. They switched off addressing the questions. IT was much more applicable than behavioral questions for an entry level internship interview.
Interview Questions
One math question was if a client invested all their money in one stock and lost 80% of it how much would they have to gain (in percentage) in the next year to get back to where they started.
Another question was what type of investments do we typically recommend and how would that differ with a risk adverse individual.
A behavioral question was name someone you hate and someone you like (both should not be obvious and refrain from political figures)
Is there anything you would like to add about yourself.

Interview
Extremely friendly people. I met the firm at an on-campus career fair and got introduced by a former intern. It took maybe 3 weeks for the resume drop to clear, then first round with one analyst one manager, and super day on week after.
Interview Questions
What is the most interesting thing happening in the energy markets right now? Where do you think oil will be at in six months? Walk me through your resume, and tell me about the thing on it that you are most proud of. Why are you interested in oil and gas? What is a downstream/midstream/upstream company, and how does it fit in the value chain? What multiples would you use to value an oil and gas company? What companies are the "super majors"? How do you keep up with the news on a daily basis? Do you have any questions for us?
