Interview
Traditum was very straightforward in their hiring process. They depended heavily on personal referrals and demonstrated history of performance. That performance did not necessarily have to be in financial markets, but rather the candidate demonstrated success in some form of competitive environment (i.e. D1 sports). When extending an offer they control much of the risk through the training and controls they put on new traders. I found it to be a very fair process. I originally contacted Traditum through a referral from a friend and flew to Chicago to meet with the hiring team. Questions were straightforward and they seemed to be looking to see if I was a good fit for the environment and that I could speak to the points on my resume. Over the next several months I followed up with a phone interview and one more trip to Chicago for similar interviews. On the second trip I spent several days shadowing a senior trader, which gave me great insight into their trading style and the company culture. My general perception is that Traditum is a great culture, but like most trading firms its a meritocracy and you are left to do much of the learning yourself. However there was never a shortage of more experienced traders that I could reach out to for advice.
Interview Questions
Most question were surrounding my previous career and the interests in becoming a trader. They spent much of the time educating me on the company, and how they structure compensation, etc.

Interview
Had an interview phone screen where discussed interest in trading, resume, classes, activities. Wanted to make sure I was interested in trading as a career and had basic understanding of prop trading, futures and commodities. Mostly fit. Two weeks after phone interview called back for in person. In person took place in main offices in Chicago, wanted to make sure I would fit in with culture. Tested IQ and basic markets knowledge.
Interview Questions
Easiest question: define a futures contract and describe its purpose.

Hardest question: Do you see the yield curve flattening or steepening? Defend your answer and suggest a potential trade idea based on your answer.

Questions mostly focused on fit, however they expect you to understand the basics of the markets they trade in and be enthusiastic about learning more.

If you say you have coding skills on your resume expect to be drilled on this as coding is an important skill to have in this space. If interviewing with a programmer he will expect you to know what you are talking about. So don't b.s. For example, dont include c++ on your resume if you took one class and don't actually know how to apply the skill.
