Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Traditum was very straightforward in their hiring process. They depended heavily on personal referrals and demonstrated history of performance. That performance did not necessarily have to be in financial markets, but rather the candidate demonstrated success in some form of competitive environment (i.e. D1 sports). When extending an offer they control much of the risk through the training and controls they put on new traders. I found it to be a very fair process. I originally contacted Traditum through a referral from a friend and flew to Chicago to meet with the hiring team. Questions were straightforward and they seemed to be looking to see if I was a good fit for the environment and that I could speak to the points on my resume. Over the next several months I followed up with a phone interview and one more trip to Chicago for similar interviews. On the second trip I spent several days shadowing a senior trader, which gave me great insight into their trading style and the company culture. My general perception is that Traditum is a great culture, but like most trading firms its a meritocracy and you are left to do much of the learning yourself. However there was never a shortage of more experienced traders that I could reach out to for advice.
