1st Year Associate

Had an initial call with one of the Principals of the firm. Spoke about my resume and past experience. Asked why I wanted to go into PE and explained to me that there is a very structured path when getting into PE in South Florida. Generally, the path is to work a few years at an IB and then come in as a 1st Year Associate and that they prefer to hire from firms down here (Ie. Suncap, etc). Asked some behavioral questions and at the end informed me that he didn't think it would be a good fit. Really kind and personable over the phone and although I did not advance past the phone screening, the firm seems to have an excellent culture from what I could tell with speaking with one of the Principals.
