What did the interview consist of?
Phone Interview
1 on 1 Interview
Skills Test
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
First round consisted of a few phone interviews with various people. This was not difficult or much different than a few other firms I interviewed with. It consisted mainly of fit questions and walking through my resume and deals (I was in investment banking at the time). Final round was at the offices and there were a few other candidates there as well. It was a full day of interviews with each of the investment professionals (10-12) and a group lunch in the middle. The interviews with the individuals varied widely between (1) fit questions, (2) technical questions in finance and accounting (the WSO questions would cover it all, and (3) case study-esque questions which were more situational in nature and tested your ability to understand what aspects of a business make it good vs. bad. There was also a simple three statement cash flow modeling test - it was easy (no LBO modeling).
