Please describe the interview / hiring process.
The hiring process started with a verbal and numerical test. The majority of the questions were about being able to make deductions from tables, illustrations, etc. under a strict time limit.
On the next stage, I sent in my resumee, grades, reference from a previous internship as well as an essay (one page on the topic of values in banking in general and concerning UBS specifically).
After some time, I had a phone interview with a person from HR, who asked me some uncomfortably formulated questions about my motivations, aspirations, etc.
After still some more time, I got invited for a one-on-one face-to-face interview with the person who ended up becoming my boss during the summer internship. This interview was relatively easy. The person mainly looked at my CV and checked whether everything I wrote down was true. Because I wrote down "knowledge of Excel", he asked me about Pivot-tables. Because I wrote down that I am studying Business Administration and took some Finance courses, he asked me about IRR-calculations, limitations of the Black-Scholes-formula, and so forth.
