Please describe the interview / hiring process.
This was the general (dreaded) group interview at Wharton. The basic logistics are as follows: About a month before the interview, you are given the interview prompt (for example, something along the lines of "Wharton is seeking to expand its offerings in this area, come up with a specific plan for expansion in one sector"). This allows you to work on the interview ahead of time. You are sat in a room with 6-7 others, and basically have 45 minutes to create a 5-minute presentation backing your point, give that presentation, and answer questions (make sure to leave time for questions). Everyone already has a pitch prepared, and you spend about half your time devising your general thesis, and another 10 minutes prepping the actual presentation. It's actually quite low-key, and a very fascinating approach, as you are judged more on your professionalism and ability to work well than on the end result.
