Please describe the interview / hiring process.
The cold call I made turned into a brief phone interview when I was transferred to an MD. Typical banking stuff...3 statements linking, cash vs. accrual, etc. Lasted maybe 10 minutes. The guy liked me and it led to 2 interviews: one for their PE side and one for I-banking. The I-banking one will be listed separately to avoid confusion.

Second/final round was with 2 MDs (one came in about 10 minutes into the interview due to a call). First couple questions were really technical...ways to value a company, how a DCF works in principle/explain it to a 5th grader. Then they noticed my musical hobbies (one MD played upright bass) and we spent almost the next hour talking about jazz and classic rock. Maybe one more technical question the rest of the time. Very odd interview.
