Summer Intern
General Interview Information
Interview Details
I had 3 back to back to back half hour interview in the first round over the phone. The 2nd (and final) round for the summer internship was 5 half hour interviews in the Boston office.
Overall, the process is easy and enjoyable. Know why you want to work investment management over other fields within finance; know why you want to work for Wellington specifically; know your story; be fun an personable and be mature. If you manage to do this, you have a good chance of getting an offer. Wellington is not one of those companies that makes interviews stressful to see how you respond to pressure face to face. It is all behavioral for the summer internship, with maybe 1 or two brain-teasers. I do remember getting a brief market-sizing question about luggage and one question clearly meant to gauge manner of thinking: "if you could invest in only one company, and had to hold it for the rest of your life, what would it be?" Other than that, it is all fit.
Again, be fun and easy-going but serious about your story, convey that you are an interdependent person who likes teamwork and lastly - differentiate yourself. Good luck.
